Vanuatu New Year Dive Adventure: itinerary and price

The 26 December 2026–2 January 2027 package advertises seven nights, ten guided boat dives across five planned dive days and return Sydney flights for A$3,895 per diver in shared accommodation. Travel is coordinated by Dive Adventures, an Abyss group leader travels with guests, and Abyss Vanuatu provides the diving.

What does A$3,895 include?

The published package includes return Sydney–Port Vila flights and Australian departure and airline taxes, Port Vila airport transfers, seven nights of shared air-conditioned accommodation at Reflections Retreat, ten guided boat dives, single tanks and weights, a dive guide, between-dive snacks, daily breakfasts and Nitrox fills for certified divers. An Abyss trip leader, a planned village visit and kava-bar evening are also described.

What costs extra?

Insurance, meals and drinks other than those included, personal equipment not expressly listed, excess baggage, optional activities and spending money are separate. A single room or non-diver arrangement is not included in the advertised shared-room price and needs its own quote and written confirmation.

Is there a local reef fee?

Abyss Vanuatu has advised a one-off VT800 reef contribution paid on arrival for a seven-day program. The current public New Year inclusions do not specify whether it is already covered; the team has not clarified which current departures pay it, including the shorter Long Weekend. Ask for the final written amount, collection method and treatment in the price for your actual trip.

Where are we staying?

The published plan names Reflections Retreat on the Efate side of Havannah Harbour, across the water from the Moso dive area. Its own site describes waterfront gardens, suites, a cottage, a main pool and a journey of roughly 25 minutes from Port Vila Airport; the local dive team estimates around 30 minutes. The advertised Abyss package provides shared air-conditioned accommodation. Verify your room, transfer and included facilities in the final itinerary; the group does not sleep on Moso Island.

What are the flight times and baggage allowance?

Return flights from Sydney are included, but the final airline, ticketed schedule and baggage allowance are confirmed in the travel documents. Avoid buying a separate connecting ticket or planning to carry unusual dive gear until those details are available. Supply your passport names exactly as they appear on the travel document.

Is there a guaranteed New Year’s Eve party?

No. The group is in Vanuatu over New Year, but an organised dinner, party, venue or other event is not promised until it appears in the final itinerary. Decide on the trip for its ten dives, island time and group experience rather than assuming a particular celebration is included.

Will there be a night dive or Paul’s Rock?

The page describes both as possibilities within a flexible site menu, not included certainties. Weather, local access, current, diver suitability and the five-day plan determine the dives. The ten guided boat dives are the stated program; no particular site, night dive or wildlife encounter is promised.

Who handles the travel booking and what terms apply?

Dive Adventures coordinates the travel arrangements and its booking terms are linked from the Abyss New Year page. Abyss supports the group and Abyss Vanuatu provides the diving. Before paying the A$850 minimum deposit, review the proposal, final package price, written confirmation process and the applicable supplier and travel terms; ask about anything unclear.

When is the final payment due?

The public New Year trip page does not state a universal balance date. The travel proposal or invoice provides the final payment deadline. Do not borrow the Long Weekend’s 60-day rule for this package; ask the organiser to confirm the actual schedule and terms in writing.
